Overview
The Naga Heritage Village, also called Kisama Heritage Village, is the permanent venue of the Hornbill Festival in Kohima district. The Directorate of Tourism says the name comes from Kigwema (Ki) and Phesama (Sa), the two villages on whose land it was built. It has a traditional house, called a morung, for every officially recognised Naga tribe, set around a central arena.
How to reach
Kisama is about 12 km from Kohima on the national highway, and taxis are available from Kohima. The nearest airport and railway station are in Dimapur. Sources give the distance as roughly 10 to 12 km, so confirm locally.
